In a very serious development, Iranian media reported the killing of an Iranian advisor in the Israeli strike that also killed Hezbollah leader Fouad Shukr. The Fars News Agency stated that an Iranian advisor was killed in Lebanon alongside Shukr on Tuesday evening in the southern suburb of Beirut. The "Times of Israel" website noted that the deceased advisor was Milad Baydi, who was in the same building as Shukr, which was targeted by Israel. According to the Israeli site, the Iranian advisor's identity was confirmed just a few hours prior.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated on Wednesday evening that his country "has dealt devastating blows to all our enemies," directly referring to Shukr's assassination. In his televised speech lasting about five minutes, Netanyahu did not mention the assassination of Hamas' political bureau chief Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran. However, he remarked that had Israel yielded to pressures to end the war in Gaza, it "would not have been able to eliminate Hamas leaders and thousands of terrorists." He directly referenced Shukr's killing, saying: "We eliminated the right-hand man (of Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan) Nasrallah, who was directly responsible for the massacre of children," referring to the death of 12 boys and girls on Saturday in a missile strike in the Golan, which Israel attributed to the Lebanese organization. He added, "We settled our accounts with Mohsen and will settle our accounts with anyone who wrongs us," using Shukr's war name.
