Putin Visits North Korea for the First Time in 24 Years (Video)

The airport and streets of the North Korean capital, Pyongyang, were adorned today, Tuesday, with Russian flags and banners welcoming Russian President Vladimir Putin and his accompanying delegation. The banners read: "Long live the indestructible Korean-Russian friendship and solidarity!", "Long live the friendship and unity between the peoples of Korea and Russia!", "We warmly welcome Russian President Vladimir Putin!", and "Korean-Russian friendship is eternal."

Russian and North Korean flags were displayed along the roads from Pyongyang Airport, and portraits of President Putin were seen on both sides of the streets. Flags of Russia and North Korea hung throughout the streets of Pyongyang and on building facades.

It is noteworthy that this is Putin's first visit to North Korea in 24 years.
