After Touching the Hearts of Egyptians: Gifts Flood in for Cotton Candy Vendor

After moving Egyptians to tears with a touching video where he threw his goods, which were cotton candy, into the street due to his despair over selling them and the harassment from young children, gifts and donations poured in for the vendor from Egyptian government agencies and businessmen. These entities provided him with a house, a project that would generate income for him, as well as a monthly salary and medical treatment for his ill mother.

The "Haya Karima" foundation in Sohag governorate announced its commitment to support the cotton candy vendor and his family by providing him with a comprehensive project that ensures a dignified life for him permanently. The organization stated that its team contacted the vendor to support him and stand by him as he starts anew with a project that aligns with his ambitions.

Additionally, the Ministry of Social Solidarity reached out to the vendor, confirming their support and that they would make every effort to expedite the process of granting him and his family the "Takafol and Karama" pension urgently.

In this context, businessmen announced that they would take care of the vendor and his family, providing him with financial support to kickstart his new project that would enable him to support himself and his family and meet their household needs.

Social media users in Egypt shared a painful video of the cotton candy vendor from Upper Egypt, who was throwing his goods in the street after losing hope of selling his sweets and had to return home empty-handed.

Businessmen and philanthropists searched for the Egyptian vendor, asking for any information that would help them locate him to assist him and establish a commercial project for him.

The vendor, named Mohamed Hussein Ibrahim, spoke to "Al Arabiya.net," stating that he went out to work on the day before Eid al-Adha to sell cotton candy while his children were waiting for him to bring them holiday gifts and buy some household supplies. He added that he spent a long time during the day looking for buyers, wandering the streets in extremely high temperatures, hoping to sell his goods and return home with some money for his family. However, he failed and, feeling desperate, threw them to the ground and headed home.

He continued, saying that he was unaware that someone was following him and filming what happened. He was surprised that as soon as he returned home, the video spread across social media, and many people from his village came to his house, offering him help after learning they saw the video online.

He also learned that businessmen were searching for him to offer assistance, expressing his guilt over giving up on selling his goods, not realizing that God's hand was compassionate towards him, leading others to film the incident so that everyone would rush to help him.
