Moulawi from the Dar Al-Fatwa: We Ensure the Safety and Security of All Our Ports

Lebanon's Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdullatif Derian received the Minister of Interior and Municipalities in the caretaker government, Bassam Moulawi, at the Dar Al-Fatwa. After the meeting, Moulawi stated: "After greeting the esteemed Mufti on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, I also extend my congratulations on this occasion to all Lebanese, hoping that the worries and sorrows facing Lebanon will dissipate, and that life in Lebanon will return to its natural state as wished by the Lebanese, a beautiful, safe, and reassuring life. We can't be at the Dar Al-Fatwa without mentioning the victims and innocents who suffer injustice and fall daily in Palestine and southern Lebanon. We wish safety for everyone, and for our country."

He added: "We talked with His Eminence about everything concerning Lebanon, the Ministry of Interior, security, and security in Beirut. We updated him on all the plans being implemented by the Ministry of Interior and its activities. There was a comprehensive review of all the political developments affecting the country, and of course, there was an emphasis on the necessity for the deputies to expedite the election of a President of the Republic. There was also a confirmation of the need to pay more attention to the security situation in the country, especially since what the Ministry of Interior is doing regarding the security situation aims to provide reassurance to most Lebanese, as most of them want security and safety for Lebanon and to maintain order."

He continued: "As for the topic discussed yesterday regarding the Rafik Hariri International Airport, you know that the General Directorate of Civil Aviation is under the Ministry of Public Works, and the Minister of Public Works held a press conference yesterday. Today, at this time, there is a tour at the airport. We request, hope, and work to preserve all our ports and borders, whether land, sea, or air, to be worthy of Lebanon, to ensure security and safety, and to be free from misinformation and any unverified news that could harm the airport and the general situation in Lebanon."
