French President Emmanuel Macron indicated on Tuesday that the "programs of far-right political groups, which formed before the French National Assembly elections, could trigger a civil war in the country." According to BFM TV, Macron stated that "the programs of these groups could lead to civil war," referencing the position of the National Rally party led by Marine Le Pen. He added that her party "divides people" on religious and ethnic grounds, thus bringing closer the threat of civil war. The president concluded that Jean-Luc Mélenchon's book "Unsubmissive France" proposes a certain form of transitional sectarianism, which could also lead to civil war, as this system is based only on dividing people according to their religious or sectarian affiliations. Macron believes that "both parties address the real issues of the people, but at the same time, they work towards internal confrontation."
