The distinguished Jaafari Mufti Sheikh Ahmad Qablan addressed a call to Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin, which stated: "With all love and respect, we have learned from the message of the Lord that aiding the oppressed, deprived, tortured, and weak is the religion of Christ and Muhammad. The prophets and heavenly houses serve the weak, oppressed, and afflicted, feeling their pain and striving to help them. The spirit of Christ and Muhammad cannot be with the oppressor or tyrant, nor can it support positions that benefit the murderers, criminals, and architects of genocide and massacres, as is the case with the tyrant Netanyahu and his terrorist entity.
However, some spiritual leaders in my country view the actions of the greater redemption group and their resistant assembly as abominable terrorism that must be deterred and prevented. This voice continuously demands the practical application of international resolutions that obligate Lebanon while exempting Israel from international decisions tailored to circumstances. The greatest possible measures prevent the freedom fighters of this country and the saints of this homeland from fulfilling their duty to prevent atrocities and massacres against the oppressed, deprived, afflicted, and tortured in this area of the earth.
We have learned from Christ and Muhammad that the voice of truth can only resonate with its rightful owners, not at the chains of Israeli tanks. Those who seek truth do not call for a position that benefits the executioner and perpetrator of crime, nor do they raise the banner of neutrality amid a terrifying rubble of Israeli massacres that devour the voices of the prophets and exaggerate the consumption of the remains of children and women incessantly. This contradicts the essence of truth sanctified by the groans of Christ and Muhammad; there is no neutrality in favor of tyranny, no alignment with falsehood, no solidarity with a criminal terrorist, and no condemnation for those who call for disarming those who are immersed in sacrifices to protect the church and mosque and have endured a history of suffering and remains to thwart Israeli atrocities in the homeland of Christ and Muhammad, which itself has been restored by ritualistic heavenly practices.
This country was once an easy victim of Israeli chains, and it only became a homeland through a sea of blood and sacrifices witnessed by every oppressed and just soul, regardless of their religion or sect. My evidence is the essence of the spirit of the Gospel and the Quran. We have learned that truth cannot be taken from falsehood, nor can one get closer to the Most Merciful with Satan; there is no neutrality in favor of a tyrant. Sanctity is proven through action, and the voice of the church is guided by the truth and its people, not falsehood and its associates.
Lebanon is a country of spiritual and political partnership, and we Muslims yearn for societal and spiritual partnership based on Christ’s teachings that establish truth and abolish falsehood, establish relief services, and prevent the deception of demons and the corruption of the corrupt. Resistance in this realm is the banner of the oppressed, the antidote for the deprived, and the aid for the tortured, which aligns with the voice of the church and its support in Syria, Lebanon, Palestine, and other parts of the world. Enough has been offered in Syria and Lebanon to defend the church and its people when they had no support except from those who offered themselves for the Lord and His places of worship. The resistance has aided them against ISIS, Al-Nusra, and all groups of murderers and criminals directly supported by Washington, Tel Aviv, Brussels, and their allies.
This is what the resistance did in Lebanon when it rescued the church from the filth of the Zionists and ISIS, encircling it with the noblest blood of resistance to keep it connected to Christ and a testament to the glory of His love and holiness. We seek no price for the truth, nor commendation for our sacrifices, but the safeguarding of the heavenly voice, exposing criminal tyrants, and a conceptual stoning of falsehood and its Zionist version. Truth in the world of struggle is only the guarantee for the oppressed, help for the deprived, aid for the tortured, and rescue for the persecuted. This is the religion of resistance, nourished by the spirit of the teachings of Christ and Muhammad.
What is suitable for the church on the national and ethical levels is also suitable for the mosque and its people. It is not our religion that the mosque is an enemy of the church, but rather a partner in the homeland, a vein of its support, and an arm for its aid. This Gaza is filled with remains, blood, massacres, and injustices, truly crying out and hoping for a saint. It screams for a hand to save and a heart to be compassionate. There is no voice to describe those who offer sacred sacrifices for churches and temples in Syria, Lebanon, and Palestine as terrorists. No truth is above the truth of resistance and the sanctity of its moral sacrifices. There is no regional terrorism greater than Israel and its supporters, and there is no sin with the Lord greater than accusing the liberators of this country and the guarantors of its sovereignty of terrorism.
If protecting the church, the mosque, liberating this country, aiding Christians in Syria, Lebanon, and Palestine, and grinding the teeth of the Zionist army are considered terrorism, then we are the people of terrorism and its masters. We will not remain silent any longer, nor will we allow Zionism a foothold in this country at all."
He continued: "Your Excellency, we love Christ and His people and offer our souls for the church and its justice, but we do not accept the exploitation of the church for positions that serve Zionist terrorism and global crime. Resistance is but the offering of the church in the balance of the Lord, and it is not the way of resistance to seek revenge, deny the truth, remain silent about a criminal tyrant, or leave the oppressed weak. It has, from the first voice of Imam Musa al-Sadr, the spiritual son of the mosque and the church, and the head of the baptism of land liberation, been a vein for aiding the oppressed and supporting the weak and tortured. It possesses the strength of truth and the right of strength that Tel Aviv and all its partners fear.
We are not those who carry a sword against a church or despise a voice for the Lord, nor do we oppose a sect, but we will not accept the exploitation of the church in any matter that does not belong to the Lord. We trust you sincerely. Reform and prevent voices except for those of the truth. Preserve the church with its integrity, for reform, establishing the truth, aiding the oppressed, and protecting the tortured are the religion of Christ and Muhammad."
He concluded: "Regarding the election of a President for Lebanon, I say to your esteemed self, we want a Christian president for the Muslims, as much as the resistance longs for and sacrifices for Christian churches, and this can only be achieved through an agreement that guarantees the homeland for both Muslims and Christians. Thank you."
