The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants in the caretaker government, Abdullah Bohabib, received a call from his Danish counterpart Lars Lok Rasmussen, expressing condolences for the victims and injured from the Israeli strike that hit Beirut last Tuesday. Minister Rasmussen conveyed his country's stance of "supporting the position of the Lebanese government and the sovereignty of Lebanon and its territorial integrity," emphasizing the "necessity to respect international legitimacy for the benefit of all countries, particularly small ones, to preserve international peace and security." In turn, Minister Bohabib thanked his Danish counterpart for the support and reiterated the "necessity of full and comprehensive implementation of Security Council Resolution 1701," pointing out that "the implementation of all UN resolutions in the region would end the cycle of periodic wars and build lasting peace," clarifying that "military options will lead to a fundamental escalation of the conflict."
