Artist Mohsen Ghazi denied news about his dismissal from the position of "Syndicate of Syrian Artists". Ghazi's name had trended across various social media platforms and Google search after rumors circulated regarding his ousting, creating a stir in the Syrian artistic community.
The radio station "Sham FM" reported Ghazi stating, "The circulated news about the vacancy of the Syndicate of Artists is incorrect, and currently I am in my office at the Syndicate." The Syndicate head added that the process of "electing a new Syndicate head in the event of a vacancy is governed by a set of laws."
Ghazi further emphasized, "We hope that those spreading the news verify its accuracy and that social media platforms do not turn into a place for leaking rumors," as he expressed. During his interview with the artistic platform "Yalla Trend", Mohsen Ghazi said, "I do not know the source of these rumors, but a journalist wrote something, and it has become widespread on different sites. Personal disputes should not lead to the leakage of such false news, as I am still in my position."
The Syndicate head clarified that there is no case of dismissal, but rather the Syndicate head can be replaced in the event of death, resignation and its acceptance, loss of confidence from the general conference, or absenteeism from sessions, noting that his position is not currently vacant.
It is noteworthy that social media buzzed with news of the dismissal of Mohsen Ghazi from his position based on a decision made by the Syndicate Council "unanimously". The news sparked significant debate on social media. Mohsen Ghazi was appointed as the head of the artists in Syria after being elected by Syrian artists in 2022, succeeding the late artist Zuhair Ramadan.
