As usual, references to the famous animated series "The Simpsons" have surfaced, this time concerning U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris. Since last night, when President Joe Biden announced his withdrawal from the presidential race and support for his deputy as the Democratic candidate, Kamala Harris has been in the spotlight.

Simultaneously, several social media users shared clips from "The Simpsons," claiming it predicted Kamala Harris' candidacy for the U.S. presidency, continuing the series' controversial streak of predictions. According to the British newspaper "The Independent," these clips are from the episode of season 11 titled "Bart to the Future," in which the character Lisa Simpson is seen after becoming President of the United States, wearing an outfit strikingly similar to one Harris wore during President Biden's inauguration in 2021, featuring pearl earrings, a pearl necklace, and a purple jacket. This episode aired in 2000.

In response, Al Jean, a writer for "The Simpsons," posted a side-by-side image of Harris and Lisa Simpson on the platform X, commenting: "Predictions from The Simpsons that I’m proud to be a part of." This is not the first time "The Simpsons" has seemingly predicted significant political events; it previously foresaw Donald Trump’s victory in 2017 and the Capitol riots.

Biden's withdrawal has stunned the presidential race, which has already witnessed an assassination attempt on former President Trump by a gunman during a campaign rally over the past ten days. Biden-Harris campaign officials and allies have made hundreds of calls urging attendees of next month's Democratic National Convention to support her candidacy for the presidential election on November 5 against the Republican candidate Donald Trump. Harris stated in a statement: "My goal is to secure this nomination and win it.. I will do everything in my power to unite the Democratic Party and our nation and defeat Donald Trump."
