The Tallest Sports Tower: The Masar Project in Riyadh (Video)

The board of directors of the Masar Sports Foundation, chaired by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Prime Minister, announced the approval of designs for the sports tower, which is one of the most prominent landmarks of the Masar project along Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Road in Riyadh. The tower will be the tallest sports tower in the world and plays a pivotal role in achieving the objectives of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, including improving the quality of life in Riyadh to become one of the world's top 10 city economies.

The Masar project will represent an exceptional destination encompassing all aspects of life and serve as a bridge towards a prosperous urban future for Riyadh, significantly contributing to the enhancement of the Saudi Arabian economy and boosting its international standing as a leading center for sports.

The project is expected to become the "largest linear park" in the world, covering over 135 kilometers with safe, tree-lined paths for pedestrians, cyclists, and horses. It connects Wadi Hanifa in the west of Riyadh to Wadi Suley in the east, encompassing over 4.4 million square meters of open green spaces, and around 50 various sports locations.

The sports tower will stand at 130 meters high and cover an area of 84,000 square meters, featuring the highest climbing wall in the world at 98 meters tall. It will also have the highest running track in the world, measuring 250 meters, with exceptional sports facilities available for over 30 different sports types, designed to the best standards to enhance sports culture and meet the needs of athletes, amateurs, and facilities for individuals with disabilities.

The sports tower is distinguished by its unique architectural design, applying the aesthetic codes of the Masar project inspired by principles of both authenticity and modernity, making it a prominent landmark along Prince Mohammed bin Salman Road and in the city of Riyadh.

The Masar project aims to improve the quality of life in Riyadh by encouraging sports participation and enabling the community to adopt a healthy lifestyle through quality facilities that enhance sports culture for all community members. It is one of the major projects for the city of Riyadh, launched by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz on March 19, 2019, with the Crown Prince serving as chairman of its board. The project aims to elevate Riyadh's global ranking and transform it into a preferred global destination, aligning with one of the key objectives of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 to promote physical, mental, and social health while fostering a community where individuals enjoy a dignified life and a healthy lifestyle within a positively engaging environment.
