Foiling a Major Operation That Mossad Intended to Execute in Lebanon

As military operations along the southern border have developed, Hezbollah has taken into account the possibility of Israel carrying out operations within the depths of Lebanon, which could have a significant moral impact, especially if they target prominent leadership figures. In this context, a source close to Haret Hreik revealed that information was received by the party's security from the intelligence of a certain country two months ago, indicating that Israel was preparing to conduct a qualitative security and military operation against an important Palestinian figure belonging to Hamas.

Based on this, the party's security began to study possible options and narrowed them down to a specific number of individuals. Through monitoring and scrutiny, they managed to apprehend a member of Hamas residing in the Beqaa Valley region at a strategic location. A special force arrested him, and upon starting the investigations, it was discovered that they had captured a valuable asset.

Sources report that during interrogation, the detainee confessed to working for Israeli intelligence and that he had been tasked with monitoring the movements of a high-ranking Hamas official traveling between Lebanon and Syria. He indicated that Israeli forces were planning to execute a landing operation near the Masnaa area to kidnap the Hamas leader upon his return from Damascus in the evening, suggesting that the operation was likely to take place in the area demarcated by the customs points on either side of the border, noting that Israeli air forces had previously executed assassinations in that area.

In light of this, Hezbollah decided to set a trap for the Israeli force, similar to the Ansarieh ambush years ago. However, Tel Aviv decided to cancel the operation at the last moment, even after receiving the approval of the Prime Minister, upon losing contact with the Palestinian agent.

Sources also indicate that several surveillance cameras have been discovered planted near the home of a Hamas leader in the Beqaa region for some time. Monitoring revealed that a Syrian group had installed them and connected them to the internet, knowing that the area surrounding the house is considered an ally of Hamas and supports its jihadist approach.
