Hello: You Have Your History and We Have the Future!

Economy and Trade Minister Amin Salam wrote on the "X" platform: "This week I read many articles, especially on the subject of history, who came before whom... and who came after... as if early arrival reserves a place and controls time...! The truth is that no one in Lebanon has lived, lives, or is committed to what they advocate or believe in or are fanatical about... rather, they exploited and consumed it to the point of its destruction, only for cheap personal interests that have nothing to do with nationalism... So it is just a matter of time and interests, and greed for power and money! What is the value of history, its lessons and morals, if no one applies what they believe, if they are truly believers after they achieve their goals!? As for us, we are a generation dreaming of the future... a generation striving for a better tomorrow for us and our children... As for you... enjoy reciting history and living in the folds and darkness of your narrow interests... You have your history and we have the future and its development... My mind, spirit, effort, activity, and humanity cannot accept that anyone fights injustice with injustice. I also do not accept that anyone fights occupation with occupation... If someone truly wants to resist the people of discord, then they should not adopt the law of these, neither with them nor with others...!! Anyone who thinks of a sectarian entity and sectarian bias falls into their trap, both traits serve as a strategic launching pad for the "divide and conquer" plan... Sectarian, religious, and political division in Lebanon is evidence of the success of the enemies of Lebanon's plan, which led to the destruction of our homeland and the devastation of our country... Lebanon flourished when: humans were human... when they were innovators, poets, writers, doctors, scientists, researchers, and teachers. Lebanon flourished when it was the capital and title of culture, art, science, health, and tourism... Lebanon declined when: we debated who came first to live in Lebanon... when we rejected unity among us... when each party, street, and neighborhood studied with a book and curriculum different from the other... when friends shot friends, and neighbors shot neighbors, and brothers shot brothers... upon whom we shared the same identity and the same flag..! Then everything declined... and the Lebanese lost values, culture, credentials, and knowledge, resorted to deception and fraud under the guise of cleverness... and committed suicide, while the good continued to shoot at the suicidal in their grave... repeatedly!! We have entered these critical and difficult circumstances into a spiral that is hard to exit from, especially after the sectarian and religious scene that many showcased to us this week, filled with great historians of the divide and conquer theory... bad news travels faster than good news... their goal is destruction, not construction, whether deliberately or unintentionally... If I wanted to detail all the facts, it would require volumes... I will suffice today with this much to avoid disturbing you and adding a burden to your concerns."
