The Iraqi Ministry of Interior announced today, Saturday, that it has arrested a gang specialized in drug trafficking and promotion in the Shab neighborhood, and seized materials for consumption in the Nahrawan district of Baghdad. The ministry stated in a statement that "according to security and intelligence information confirming precise field follow-up in the areas of responsibility, a force commanded by the commander of the 19th brigade of the 5th Federal Police captured a gang consisting of three suspects caught in the act of promoting narcotics in the Shab area, where they seized (5 small bags filled with crystal narcotics estimated at about 26 grams, contaminated ampoules used for consumption, and mobile phones)."
It added that "under a judicial order, a force from the second brigade managed to carry out a search operation at the house of a previously arrested suspect in the Nahrawan district, during which they seized materials used for drug consumption (7 contaminated smoking pipes, a pistol magazine, in addition to 2 motorcycles without proper documents)," confirming that "the suspects, along with the seized materials, were referred to the relevant authorities for the completion of investigative and legal procedures against them."
