Traffic Measures in the Southern Suburb... Here are the details

The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division, announced that "on the occasion of commemorating the 10th day of Muharram in the southern suburb on 17/07/2024, and following the approval of the Governor of Mount Lebanon, the General Directorate of Internal Security Forces will implement the following traffic measures:

First: The passage of vehicles and motorbikes of all kinds will be prohibited starting from 02:00 AM on 17/07/2024, until the conclusion of the ceremonies. However, the passage of light vehicles and motorbikes will be allowed, after thorough inspections, exclusively through the following three entrances:

- The Parliament entrance

- The airport road opposite the municipalities union of the suburb

- The "Kokodi" checkpoint next to the airport wall

- The Barakat checkpoint in the Tayrou area, near the airport tanks.

Second: The closure of Imad Mughniyeh Boulevard in both directions, from the Sayyad roundabout to the east and from the old airport road to the west, starting from 05:00 AM on 17/07/2024, until the ceremonies are concluded.

Third: The old airport road will be closed in front of the Supreme Islamic Shia Council on the eastern lane, with traffic redirected to the western lane and side streets.

Fourth: The launch of training aircraft and drones, of all types, will be prohibited in the sky of the suburb.

Therefore, citizens are requested to take note and avoid the aforementioned roads, and to adhere to the directions and instructions of the internal security forces to facilitate traffic flow and prevent congestion."
