The Kuwaiti team Kazma was subjected to a strange scam during its training camp in the city of Alexandria, Egypt, in preparation for the new football season. The official account of Kazma announced via its social media platforms that it played a friendly match against the team of Beni Suef Telephones during the camp, which ended with a significant victory for the Kuwaiti team, scoring seven goals to one.
After the match, the Kuwaiti team was surprised by a response from the administration of Beni Suef Telephones, stating that they did not hold any friendly matches and that the preparation period for the new season had not yet begun, which meant that the Kuwaiti team faced a non-existent team.
The Kuwaiti club eventually discovered that one of the Egyptian coaches who had contacted them to arrange a friendly match brought in some street players who impersonated players from Beni Suef Telephones in exchange for distributing the match fee among them.
Beni Suef Telephones issued an official statement saying, "Beni Suef Telephones Club announces that the news circulating about holding a friendly match with Kazma Club is incorrect. The club has not yet started its preparation period and has not played any friendly matches at this time."
The statement added, "The club will take necessary legal actions against anyone who exploits the name of the club... and any news concerning the club will be published on this page to ensure transparency and credibility."
In another statement, the club warned against dealing with a player agent named Sid Riyad who impersonated a representative of Beni Suef Telephones and conducted a friendly match against Kazma Club, despite Beni Suef Telephones not having started its preparation period or played any friendly matches.
The club continued, "The club will take legal action against this individual as soon as possible to protect its legal and moral rights."
The statement concluded with a warning to any individual or company operating in the sports field not to impersonate the club without prior permission or legal grounds.
