Following news of her possible reconciliation with her ex-husband Hossam Habib, Shirin Abdel Wahab's treating physician released a statement regarding her health condition. Dr. Nabil Abdel Maksood posted on his Facebook page: "A message to the fans and admirers of Shirin Abdel Wahab. Recently, there have been many reports, some of which are false, concerning the big singer. As her personal doctor and upon her request, I want to reassure her large audience that Shirin is doing well and is in good health now."
He continued, "She has been under my complete medical care for more than twenty days and is on her way to fully restoring her health and wellness. Recently, Shirin has faced significant and harsh pressures on all fronts without going into details. Now, Shirin needs support, rehabilitation, rest, and positive social support, while avoiding any negativity." Dr. Nabil added, "Therefore, she is currently isolating herself from everyone and from all news until she regains her full strength," noting that Shirin has been responsive and fully cooperative medically, with a strong internal desire to return quickly with a new album for her large audience.
Furthermore, Shirin Abdel Wahab released a press statement last night denying all circulating news about her reunion with Hossam Habib, affirming that she is preparing in the coming period to resume her artistic activities by releasing several new songs and performing concerts.
It is noteworthy that the New Cairo Prosecutor's Office had decided two weeks ago, following the recent altercation between Shirin Abdel Wahab and her ex-husband Hossam Habib, to release both after they underwent an interrogation session with their respective lawyers present. In her statements to the prosecutor’s office, Shirin accused Hossam of physically assaulting her and causing a laceration to her head, while he accused her of damaging their studio and verbally assaulting him with insults.
A close source to Shirin Abdel Wahab revealed that Hossam offered her reconciliation and dropping the charges after the interrogation session, but she strongly refused, asserting that he caused her significant psychological and physical harm. The source indicated that Shirin might request to drop the complaints in the coming period, especially since she confirmed in front of those present that she did not feel psychologically prepared to reconcile at this time.
It was also clarified that Mohamed Abdel Wahab, Shirin's brother, was with her at the prosecutor's office, having attended the interrogation session at her invitation, especially since they reconciled from the second day of the incident involving her assault. The prosecutor’s office decided to release Hossam Habib on a bail amounting to 5,000 EGP pending investigation, accusing him of physically assaulting Shirin Abdel Wahab in her apartment. Meanwhile, Habib requested a statement from Shirin’s daughter to hear her account of the assault incident. Additionally, news of the altercation has dominated headlines and social media, particularly after videos emerged showing Shirin in a distressed state, screaming and breaking things.
