How Your Voice Reveals Diabetes

Endocrinologist Dr. Zahra Pavlova announced that diabetes can be detected through voice analysis. She noted that Mayo Clinic published results from experiments conducted by Canadian scientists who used artificial intelligence to analyze voice recordings of healthy individuals and those suffering from diabetes. Participants recorded the same phrase daily for two weeks.

Dr. Pavlova stated, "It turned out that the tone, intensity, and timbre of healthy individuals' voices differ significantly from those of patients with diabetes. When considering data related to age, gender, height, and weight, the accuracy of identifying patients using voice was 86 percent for men and 89 percent for women."

Pavlova pointed out that according to the study, the intensity of voices in men with diabetes changes and may tremble, while in women, their voice pitch changes, often sounding hoarse and sometimes disappearing. Researchers believe these changes are linked to damage to muscle fibers, including the vocal cords, which occurs when blood glucose levels rise, and these vocal changes are exacerbated by anxiety and depression.
