The former president of the Progressive Socialist Party, Walid Jumblatt, in a statement, affirmed that in light of the tragic incident that affected the town of Majdal Shams in the occupied Golan, the following must be done:
Firstly: Offering sincere condolences and sympathy to the families of the martyrs and the general population of the occupied Syrian Golan.
Secondly: The targeting of civilians is rejected and condemned, whether in occupied Palestine, the occupied Golan, or southern Lebanon. The history and present of the Israeli enemy are filled with massacres it has committed and continues to commit against civilians relentlessly. A call is made to everyone in Lebanon, Palestine, and the Golan to avoid any provocations or incitement within the context of the enemy's destructive project. It remains essential to prevent the expansion of the war and to call for an immediate cessation of hostilities and fire.
Thirdly: In light of Hezbollah's statement denying any connection of the Islamic Resistance to what happened in Majdal Shams, we emphasize the warning and alertness regarding what the Israeli enemy has long been working on to ignite strife and fragment the region and its components. We have previously thwarted this project, and as it rears its head again, we stand ready alongside the resistance and all fighters confronting Israeli criminality and occupation.
