Israeli Weapons Expert Accurately Explains the Capabilities of a New Weapon Held by Hezbollah

The Hebrew newspaper "Maariv" published an article highlighting what the Kuwaiti newspaper "Al-Jarida" reported in recent days regarding Iran delivering electromagnetic weapons to Hezbollah. In light of this, the newspaper conducted an interview with Roteem Meital, CEO of "Asgard Systems," which is involved in developing military technology for Israel's defense industries.

Meital stated that "describing weapons as electromagnetic means talking about something no one has seen before, but everyone understands it exists in reality and, in our case, on the geopolitical and military chessboard in the Middle East." He further described the electromagnetic weapon: "Imagine lightning striking the building you live in, causing the water and electricity systems, household appliances, television, and medical systems to stop functioning completely, similar to a power outage... these systems could potentially burn from within like a short circuit."

He continued, "I assume the threat is more focused on strategic bases and facilities, water desalination systems, and Israel's power grid, but it cannot be accurately said that such a weapon has never been used in history... there are no sources or references to learn from."

Meital remarked that "while physics is physics, it differs in the way they choose to employ such capabilities; however, I believe the model would definitely take the form of a drone flying at low altitude, similar to the Houthi attack that struck last weekend near the U.S. Embassy in Tel Aviv. Instead of a kinetic warhead with explosives, it would be possible to equip the drone's nose with a proactive mechanism for the electromagnetic pulse that activates during the drone's impact with the target."

He added, "But again, it is not truly possible to know this, and it is mostly speculation... this is because there is no documentation yet of such a weapon or technology being used." The CEO of "Asgard Systems" noted, "From a personal perspective, this is not just a step on the map of potential threats, but it is essential and correct to treat such a threat as a tangible step and address the threat with unconventional weapons."

He explained that the threat from unconventional weapons is likely since electronic processes in 2024 manage and operate all vital systems in Israel, from infrastructure and medical systems to security and military applications. He concluded his statements by saying, "If we think of the analogy from the sixties that in the event of a nuclear explosion, only cockroaches will survive... the same analogy applies to an electromagnetic attack, but this time, the 'cockroaches' (a term referring to electronic components in electrical circuits) will not survive," emphasizing that this will affect everyone.
