The media office of Minister of Information Ziad Makari stated that "what was released today by the media and communication officer of the Lebanese Forces party, Charles Jabbour, contains vulgar expressions and offensive thinking. This was in response to the stance of the Minister of Information, which prompts the ministry to remind all parties of the need to be cautious in choosing their spokespersons. The task should not be assigned to those who suffer from behavioral disorders that they project onto others, or those who struggle with intellectual imbalances that lead the media and political discourse to a bottom level."
The media office emphasized that "Charles Jabbour does not deserve a response and will not lure us into where he resides. He should elevate himself and rise above, if he can still, so we can engage in political and public matters and communicate in a manner befitting us first and all Lebanese." It added that "the refined and elegant word that some do not master should guide us to a non-agitated rhetoric that does not veer us away from the path of reason."
On Wednesday, Jabbour tweeted: "My distant observation of the positions of Minister of Information Ziad Makari has shown me that he is politically uninformed, superficial, and light; but today I confirmed that he is superficial, as he said: 'Suleiman Frangieh gave a waiver to Geagea from the standpoint of forgiveness in the case of Tony Frangieh, without political compensation.' He added: 'Forgiveness takes you, and a waiver burdens you. Go read history, you fool.'"
