The Saudi teams continue their preparations for the participation in the 33rd Summer Olympic Games, which will officially kick off in the French capital, Paris, tomorrow (Friday). Saudi Arabia will be represented by 10 athletes in four competitions: show jumping, taekwondo, athletics, and swimming.
In show jumping, the team will be represented by individual and team riders Ramzi Al-Duhami, Abdullah Al-Sharbatly, Khalid Al-Mubti, and Abdulrahman Al-Rajhi. The Saudi taekwondo contingent includes athlete Dunya Abu Taleb competing in the 49 kg category. The Saudi athletics team features throws athlete Mohamed Tolu in shot put, pole vaulter Hussein Al-Hizam, runner Heba Malm in the 100m event, swimmer Mashaal Al-Ayed in the 200m freestyle, and swimmer Zaid Al-Saraj in the 100m freestyle.
The Saudi teams began their preparations for "Paris 2024" with several training camps, starting with the show jumping team, whose riders are currently in Germany, the Netherlands, and Belgium, until their arrival in Paris on July 30 of this month. Dunya Abu Taleb has engaged in several training camps since her historic qualification for the Olympics as the first Saudi female athlete to qualify through the qualifying rounds, starting in Riyadh, then Antalya, Turkey, and currently in Tunisia, until her arrival in Paris on August 3.
Athlete Mohamed Tolu from athletics is currently training in Lisbon, Portugal, having been announced as qualified for the French Olympics since June of last year. He is set to join the Saudi team's camp in Normandy, France, tomorrow for four days before entering the athlete village in Paris.
After their qualification for the French Olympics in early July, athletes Hussein Al-Hizam and Heba Malm are currently in a camp in Normandy, where they will enter the athlete village at the end of this month. The duo from the Saudi swimming team, Mashaal Al-Ayed and Zaid Al-Saraj, will be the first to arrive at the athlete village, starting today (Thursday), as they are currently in the Saudi team's camp in Normandy.
