The Grand Ja'fari Mufti Sheikh Ahmad Qablan delivered the Friday sermon at Imam Hussein Mosque in Burj al-Barajneh, emphasizing the necessity of settling the salary conditions of the public sector, including both active and retired employees, as well as military and security institutions. He stated that there can be no escape from the crisis of social disorder without addressing the plague of displacement. He reiterated the need to close the doors of the refugee commission and its associations, stressing that Lebanon is not a laboratory for experiments. Saving the country requires protecting Lebanese interests, safeguarding national goods, recovering deposits, and putting state apparatuses in place.
Qablan expressed that underestimating and disregarding problems, pulling back, misjudgment, and fleeing from reality put Lebanon in jeopardy. He urged the Lebanese government and all relevant political forces to take serious steps in reforming the electricity crisis, asserting that electricity is a necessity, not a luxury. He criticized the dollarization of state services without social compensation, which exacerbates calamities, and emphasized the need for comprehensive public service reform and a confirmed pension system, remarking that these needs take precedence over any other.
He addressed the Arabs, stating that normalization is a massacre for them and that the era of Zionism has ended. He asserted that pro-Zionist Arabs will never find peace, emphasizing that the solution lies in returning to Arabism and the interests of the peoples, warning that otherwise, they are sacrificing themselves and their regimes. He condemned the recent events with the butcher of Tel Aviv in the American Congress as an immoral show atop the ruins of our children’s massacres in Gaza, Lebanon, Yemen, Syria, and Iraq, which some American-influenced individuals in this country must understand.
For the record, he pointed out that America is rooted in the destruction of nations and the murder of their peoples. He asserted the necessity of purging the country from American influence, as it is the secret behind the destruction of Lebanon. He claimed that without this American influence, there would be no crisis of vacancy or political rift. Regardless of how much Washington celebrates its Zionist butcher, Israel is devouring defeat while the sands of Gaza swallow it, and the southern Lebanese front has put it in an unprecedented predicament in the history of this terrorist entity. This spectacle in Congress will not aid this defeated criminal, and the hand of resistance and its capabilities await the moment of decisive action, which will surprise the world.
He concluded by stating that some Lebanese are required to engage in a presidential settlement that reflects Lebanon's sovereign strength. To be clearer, he asserted that they will not accept any presidential settlement at the expense of sovereign national interests, also stating that depending on electoral or regional change is misplaced. "This country belongs to us all, and we must establish a presidential settlement that serves this consensual partnership in its sovereign aspect. The nature of regional events aligns with national interests, and we will not accept less than the highest political interests for this country."
