What is the Truth About the Thousands Praying in France After the Insult to Christ at the Olympics?

A video recently circulated on social media, claiming to show thousands gathering in France to protest against an insult to Christianity during the opening of the Olympic Games. Among the accounts that shared the video was one supporting U.S. presidential candidate Donald Trump, which stated: "Thousands of Christians gathered in France in a stunning display of faith and unity. Who believes we need more of this? The mainstream media doesn't want you to share this!"

In research conducted by RT regarding this video, it was confirmed that it is not related to what happened at the Olympic opening ceremony. In fact, the footage dates back to 2022, showing thousands praying in celebration of the Feast of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. The Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes shared the video on its account on the platform "X" on August 15, 2022, stating: "In prayerful unity with all Catholics around the world."

As the video spread widely, the platform "X" issued a notice below the video whenever an account posted it, stating: "This video from 2022 has been altered by flipping it from left to right; however, it is the same video shared for a gathering celebrating the Feast of the Assumption in August 2022 in Lourdes, France."

The portrayal by transgender artists of Leonardo da Vinci's painting "The Last Supper" during the opening of the 2024 Paris Olympics sparked widespread outrage and calls for a boycott of the Olympics, considering it a gross insult to religious beliefs. A group of transgender artists performed in a lengthy video reenactment of the figures depicted in "The Last Supper," which was painted in the mid-15th century. The scene included one transgender person embodying the character of Jesus Christ, dancing, jumping, crawling, swaying, and making sexual gestures unrelated to religion, art, music, or even the sports event that is supposed to represent the nobility and civilization of humanity from its inception.
