A responsible U.S. source has suggested that Ismail Haniyeh may have been killed by a new Israeli missile called "Wind Demon."
The missile that killed Haniyeh was unveiled by Israel not long ago and is developed by the "Israeli Aerospace Industries." It is notable for its ability to strike specific targets across the Middle East. Israel has labeled the new missile "Wind Demon," which is a lightweight cruise missile with a warhead weighing approximately 20 kg, according to the newspaper "Maariv." The publication claims that the unveiling of the missile is a message to Iran and its allied states that Israel possesses lethal technology capable of striking various distant targets at a low cost and with minimal aircraft operation.
According to the newspaper, the missile boasts a long range and features electro-optical guidance systems that provide thermal capability, allowing it to operate both day and night, as well as a high accuracy in hitting and destroying targets. The Israeli governmental company states that "Wind Demon" responds to the market demand for effective weapons at relatively low cost, enabling prolonged combat.
The Israeli missile can be launched according to a pre-defined mission plan without the need for operator intervention, from airborne platforms such as helicopters or mission aircraft, and it can target both moving and stationary objectives. The missile has a high resilience and capability to reach its target, among other factors, due to its ability to approach targets at low altitudes from a long distance and launch the missile, thanks to a strong and integrated navigation system.
