Paris Olympics: Shooter Basel Confidently Takes Half the Journey Towards Medal Dream

With the presence and support of the President of the Lebanese Olympic Committee and President of the Lebanese Shooting Federation, Dr. Pierre Jalakh, Olympic shooter Ray Basel competed in the Women's Trap Shooting event in the first stage on Tuesday, July 30. She was able to hit the following targets in the three rounds: 23 – 25 – 23, achieving a score of 71 out of 75, placing 13th among 27 world-class female shooters. She showed complete readiness and strong preparation in her pursuit of achieving the best result, and it can be said that she has covered half the distance towards her medal dream, which she rightfully deserves. She will compete in the second and final stage on Wednesday, July 31, with hopes of being among the top six shooters to secure a colored medal.

In swimming, swimmer Simon Douaihy participated in the 100-meter freestyle and placed second in his heat, which included 8 swimmers, with a time of 10:50 seconds. He faced strong competition and excelled, improving his previous record of 69:49 seconds, marking a difference of 41:0 tenths of a second, though he was unable to qualify, showcasing technical skills that are hoped to be developed in the future.

In the tennis competition, player Benjamin Hassan played his match in the second round of the men's singles against Argentine Sebastián Báez and lost with a score of (2 – 6) (3 – 6) (6 – 7).

On the competition schedule for Wednesday, July 31, Olympic shooter Ray Basel will continue her shooting qualifiers in the trap event on her second day, while judoka Kramnop Sagaybov will participate in the 90kg weight category qualifiers, joining 372 athletes in this competition. Regarding Sagaybov's participation in the event, coach François Junior Saad declined to comment and left that for after the match, hoping for success.
