Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi held a phone conversation today, Tuesday, with his Egyptian counterpart Badr Abdel-Atty regarding regional conditions and the serious escalation in the area. During the call, which was part of ongoing coordination and consultation between the two brotherly countries, the ministers stated that halting the Israeli assault on Gaza is the first step towards de-escalation and protecting the region from the repercussions of slipping into regional war. The ministers held Israel fully responsible for the serious escalation in the region and emphasized the need for the international community to uphold its responsibilities and compel Israel to cease its assault on Gaza, respect international law, and stop its escalating actions.
