Arab Basketball Federation Meets in Cairo Under the Presidency of Al-Qarqawi... Junior Championship Kicks Off Next Monday

The Board of Directors of the Arab Basketball Federation will hold a meeting on the 17th of this month in Cairo, chaired by Major General Ismail Al-Qarqawi, president of both the Arab and Emirati federations, to discuss the federation's programs for the upcoming period. The meeting will include a presentation by Secretary-General Brigadier Abdullah Shalabi regarding the previous season's championships and the elections of the federation for the new four-year term, in addition to the financial report and the estimated budget for the upcoming period.

On another note, the Arab Junior Championship for under 18 years will kick off next Monday at the Cairo Stadium complex, with four teams participating: Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan, and Somalia. A technical meeting will be held on Sunday evening to approve players' passports and the tournament schedule, which will follow a single round-robin format. The top four teams will move to the semifinals, with the winner of the first match facing the fourth team and the second match featuring the second and third teams, with the winners advancing to the final to determine the champion of the 21st edition. Notably, Egypt leads with a total of 12 titles.
