Israeli Minister of Economy Nir Barkat confirmed that the current war is Iran's first war. He stated, "I believe the best defense is offense - what Israel did at the port in Yemen is a good example to follow. It is better to talk less and act more."
In a televised interview, Barkat said, "Anyone who attacks us is equipped and supplied with weapons by Qatar and Iran. This is about an Iranian jihadist axis that wants to destroy us, seeks a nuclear bomb, and uses many partners and proxies to target Israel." He suggested that Israel should adopt President Kennedy's model during the Cuban crisis, where Kennedy made it clear that "every missile from Cuba will be met with a missile against Moscow" when the Soviet Union placed cruise missiles threatening the United States.
Barkat continued, "The world has come to understand, and the Americans understand that after the first Iranian attack, everyone realizes that Iran and Qatar are the ones managing the battle from behind the scenes." He emphasized that "the best defense is offense, and what Israel did in Yemen is the best example of the type of attack that should be carried out: attack, then attack, then attack." He believes that assassination policies are effective, like the assassination of guest and other cases carried out by Israel and others, along with the attack in Yemen. He added that surprise attacks are required, as seen in other locations like the 1967 War, and it is better not to discuss these matters in the media but to focus on actions. He mentioned that "ambiguity in the battle serves the state of Israel."
Barkat advised citizens to maintain a normal lifestyle while adhering to guidelines from the home front. He affirmed, "What I express reflects the viewpoint of the entire Israeli government; there is a change in the way of thinking that should be adopted. Practically, we are transitioning from 'more defensive measures to more offensive ones.' I expect this, and the people of Israel expect it too."
