Foods That Improve Brain Function: Discover Them!

According to Dr. Noria Dianova, a gastroenterology specialist and nutrition expert, to enhance brain function, one should add foods rich in micronutrients to their diet. She emphasizes the importance of paying special attention to vitamins B1 and B9, iodine, omega-3, and bioflavonoids. The expert notes that "many people, despite following an ideal diet, suffer from deficiencies in certain necessary elements for the brain, such as vitamins B, D, iron, zinc, and omega-3." Therefore, she recommends consuming whole grain bread, buckwheat, oats, legumes, lean animal organs, and brightly colored vegetables as they are rich in vitamin B1.

Additionally, the expert highlights the importance of not forgetting iodine. She states, "Iodine is a rare element found in iodized sea salt. Therefore, there is no need to add salt during meals; it should be added before serving to prevent it from heating." The expert suggests including seafood, squid, mussels, and seaweed in the diet, noting that these also help in preventing diabetes.

According to her, it is important to consume 25 grams of soy protein with isoflavones, as it helps lower cholesterol levels in the blood and prevents cardiovascular diseases. Soy milk, tofu, vegetables, and fruits can also be consumed for the same purpose. To compensate for a lack of omega-3, she advises eating seafood, including various fatty fish.
