Ways to Improve Vision: Learn About Them!

Dr. Roman Ivanov, an expert at the "Gemotest" laboratory, points out that "vision cannot be corrected through special exercises, specific foods, or following a special diet." He states: "The most common eye diseases are myopia and hyperopia. In the first case, a person sees things clearly up close but not at a distance. In the second case, a person sees distant objects clearly. In both cases, glasses and contact lenses remain the best way to correct vision. The person should wear lenses to correct their vision." According to him, surgical intervention can correct vision in severe cases for both conditions. If the person's condition allows, laser correction can also improve their quality of life.

He explains: "We must understand that correcting vision through certain exercises, such as rapid blinking or slow eye rotations, or looking at distant objects and lightly massaging the eyelids, will not be effective. There is currently no evidence supporting the benefits of these exercises for vision correction, though an eye doctor may prescribe them if the person experiences specific disorders related to eye muscle tension. They can help strengthen the eye muscles and relieve spasms caused by prolonged work on electronic devices."

The doctor emphasizes that foods do not aid in improving vision. Although some, like carrots, contain vitamins and have numerous benefits, they do not help restore visual sharpness. He advises: "In this case, it is better to consult an eye doctor and conduct necessary tests, and if needed, take specific vitamins beneficial for the eyes—such as vitamin B2, which strengthens blood vessels in the eyeball; vitamin A, which enhances night vision; vitamin B1, which helps accelerate the transmission of nerve impulses from the brain to the optical nerves; and vitamin C, which improves oxygen flow to the cornea and retina."
