NASA announced today, Wednesday, that the launch of the Crew Dragon 9 spacecraft to the International Space Station has been postponed for more than a month. A statement published on NASA's official website indicates that both NASA and SpaceX expect to launch the Crew-9 mission no later than September 24. The delay of the mission, originally scheduled for August 18 from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, will allow the agency to establish plans to return Boeing's "Starliner" vehicle to Earth. Additionally, this delay will enable SpaceX to avoid any issues during the separation and docking of crewed Soyuz vehicles with the International Space Station. It is expected that Russian astronaut Alexander Gerbonov will be part of the Crew Dragon mission's crew, according to a mutual flight agreement signed by Roscosmos with NASA in July 2022, which is anticipated to be extended until the end of 2025.
