Egyptian authorities have decided to expel Mohamed Hisham Arab Al-Halabi, the son of Syrian businessman Hisham Arab Al-Halabi, for the sake of the public good, according to the official gazette. Hisham Arab Al-Halabi is a Syrian businessman and a member of the Board of Directors of the Syrian Businessmen Association in Egypt, as well as a co-founder of the Export House Company in Syria.
An individual who has been previously expelled is not allowed to return to the Arab Republic of Egypt except with permission. Egyptian law stipulates that anyone who fails to comply with the expulsion or deportation order may be punished with imprisonment for a period not exceeding two years and a fine of no less than 500 Egyptian pounds and no more than 2000 Egyptian pounds, or one of these penalties, without prejudice to the enforcement of the expulsion or deportation order. In the case of return, the punishment is imprisonment for no less than six months.
The head of the Passport, Immigration, and Nationality Authority has the discretion to impose on the foreigner who has been subject to an expulsion order, which could not be executed, a residence in a specific area and require them to report to the appropriate police station at designated times until their expulsion is carried out.
