It seems that American billionaire Elon Musk, who has suffered heavy losses since acquiring the famous microblogging platform "Twitter" two years ago, has reached his limit and declared an all-out war. In a brief tweet, the controversial Musk announced that the war has indeed begun. He wrote on his account on "X": "We tried peace for 2 years, now it is war."
He later urged in subsequent tweets posted in the past few hours that every company harmed by this advertising bloc or others should consider legal action. His opponents are those advertisers who have opposed him in recent months, accusing him of allowing the platform "X," which he acquired in 2022, to promote anti-Semitic and hateful content.
Just yesterday, the popular social media platform filed a lawsuit against a global advertising coalition and several major companies, including Unilever, Mars, and CVS Health, accusing them of illegally conspiring to ignore "X" and intentionally causing its revenue losses. The company, formerly known as Twitter, accused these entities of a "widespread boycott of advertisers."
In its lawsuit, it claimed that advertisers operating through the global advertisers' initiative called the Global Alliance for Responsible Media collectively and harmfully withheld "billions of dollars in advertising revenue" from X. The company contended that they acted against their own economic interests and conspired against the platform, thus undermining U.S. antitrust laws.
This move comes after major companies like Disney, Apple, Comcast, Warner Bros. Discovery, and others, in addition to advertising firms, suspended their ads on X, citing concerns about the display of Nazi-supported content and hate speech on the platform.
Since purchasing Twitter, Musk has opened multiple fronts and wars, whether with major advertising companies, politicians, or various organizations and NGOs. He has also strongly criticized what he calls the "woke" movement and the far-left, in addition to promoting issues related to gender and sexual identity.
He has repeatedly criticized the Democratic Party's policies regarding immigration and the U.S. border with Mexico. He has reiterated that his platform is the only one protecting freedom of opinion and expression, allowing users to share their views without restrictions, unlike traditional media.
