The Minister of Public Works and Transport in the caretaker government, Ali Hamieh, inaugurated a new public transport line between the Nahr al-Mawt area and Baabda, specifically the Saraya building, in the presence of Mount Lebanon Governor Judge Mohamed Makawi and the Chairman of the Board and General Director of Public Transport, Ziad Nasr.
In his speech at the event, Minister Hamieh explained "the importance of the new line for citizens to reach Baabda to complete their transactions," and confirmed "the schedule for opening additional public transport lines sequentially to include Chtaura, Baalbek, Sidon, Tyre, and Tripoli." He praised the "cooperation and coordination with the Governor of Mount Lebanon who provided the necessary facilitation to enable the opening of the line."
For his part, Governor Makawi emphasized "the necessity of expanding the public transport network so citizens can benefit from it in various locations," and thanked Minister Hamieh for "his diligent follow-up on public transport services and their gradual expansion, as well as the positive impact this has on citizens, especially in the current delicate economic conditions in the country." Finally, the General Director of Public Transport explained how to systematically distribute the lines and expedite the implementation of public transport services.
