"Amal": We Will Continue to Rely on Our Internal Cohesion

The political bureau of the "Amal" movement stated in a message regarding the anniversary of the victory on August 14, that "amid the criminal war launched by Israel against our people and land, and against the civilians in Gaza, we recall the events of the 2006 war, where the failure and defeat of the Zionist criminal machine was evident as it could not subdue Lebanon which stood steadfast behind its army, people, and resistance. Its fighters engaged in heroic battles that forced the enemy to swallow the cup of disappointment, failure, and defeat."

It pointed out that "the integration of the components of society and its forces led to the victorious outcomes achieved on August 14, 2006, and the issuance of United Nations Security Council Resolution 170, which the enemy continues to blatantly violate, disregarding its provisions that affirm Lebanon's sovereignty over all its land, borders, airspace, and waters."

The political bureau affirmed "the continuation of relying on our national strengths and internal cohesion in order to deprive the enemy of opportunities, which have been brazenly revealed by the crimes perpetrated by its Nazi-like leaders against the Palestinian people, within the context of a comprehensive occupation plan that aims to uproot its people from their land to exile and diaspora. This drives its policies towards the brink of a global crisis that poses severe dangers, making it truly a confirmation of the words of Imam Musa al-Sadr: that Israel poses a danger not only to Palestine and Arabs, but to world peace as well."

It emphasized that "the policies of deliberate and systematic killing, the violation of the sanctity of holy places in Al-Aqsa Mosque, the Judaization plans in Palestine, and the scorched earth policy expelling its inhabitants from Southern Lebanon will be met with resistance and deterrence of aggression with the same determination faced in August 2006."

It confirmed that "efforts will remain focused on following the guidance of Imam al-Sadr's teachings that Israel should not become a natural part of the region, and that the psychological barrier against it must remain in place, reinforcing his sound vision that: Israel is an absolute evil, and dealing with it is forbidden."
