Iran Prepares for Direct and Imminent Attack on Israel in the Coming Days

Axios news site reported, citing two informed sources, that the latest assessment from Israeli intelligence indicates that Iran is on the verge of launching a direct attack on Israel, potentially within the next few days. In conjunction with this, the United States has sent a submarine and a strike group to the Middle East.

The U.S. site, citing unnamed sources, noted that a new intelligence assessment suggested the attack could occur before the ceasefire in Gaza and the hostage negotiations scheduled for next Thursday, despite Hamas stating it would not participate in the negotiations.

Axios reported that Iran has taken significant preparatory steps in its missile and drone systems, similar to those taken before the April attack. According to a source familiar with the latest Israeli intelligence assessment, evaluations over the last 24 hours indicate a change in the situation.

The source added that internal debates continue in Tehran, which may lead the Iranian regime to alter its decision.

Israeli intelligence indicates that Iran's attack might precede the scheduled ceasefire talks on Thursday, as noted by Axios, which stated that Iran decided to "bomb Israel directly in response to the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh."

Israeli Army Radio, citing security sources, explained that Iran is close to making a decision to directly bomb Israel from its territory, clarifying that this action "would be limited so as not to lead to a large-scale war."

On Sunday, the U.S. Department of Defense (Pentagon) announced that Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin ordered the nuclear submarine USS Georgia to leave the Mediterranean Sea and head toward the Middle East. The disclosure of the USS Georgia's location, equipped with guided missiles, is a rare action by the U.S. military.

The Pentagon statement also mentioned that Lloyd Austin informed Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant on Sunday that he had ordered the Abraham Lincoln strike group to deploy to the region as soon as possible.
