In a tragic incident, the Public Prosecution in the northern Giza governorate of Egypt continues its investigation into the case of firecrackers being set off at a wedding that resulted in the death of a boy and injuries to others due to burns and cuts. The security authorities received a report yesterday, Sunday, about one person being killed and others injured at a wedding in Kerdasa, and a team from the Kerdasa police station was immediately dispatched to investigate the circumstances of the incident.

Investigations revealed that a dispute broke out between the victims and others due to the launching of firecrackers, leading to the death of one person and injuries to others during the wedding celebration. The injured were promptly transported to the hospital for necessary treatment, while the deceased was transferred to the morgue under the jurisdiction of the relevant prosecutor.

The accused were arrested, and upon confrontation, they admitted to committing the act. A report was filed and referred to the prosecution, which is carrying out investigations concerning the accused. The prosecution has permitted the burial of the deceased and requested investigations from the security authorities regarding the incident, as well as summoned eyewitnesses to hear their testimonies. The prosecution ordered the detention of the groom and those who launched the firecrackers for 24 hours pending further investigation.

The incident began when the Giza Security Directorate was notified by a hospital about the arrival of several people suffering from burns and the body of a boy, resulting from firecrackers launched by guests at a wedding.
