The Saudi Ministry of Interior announced on Monday the execution of a death sentence in Riyadh against a citizen after confirming his conviction for killing another Saudi citizen, according to a statement published by the Saudi Press Agency "SPA." The ministry stated in its announcement: "Musa bin Idris bin Musa Shwaihi, a Saudi national, killed Khalaf bin Khalid bin Suhail Al-Mutairi, also a Saudi national, by stabbing him with a sharp object, resulting in his death due to a dispute between them."
It added that "security authorities were able to apprehend the aforementioned perpetrator, and investigations led to charges against him for committing the crime. After being referred to the competent court, a ruling was issued confirming the charges against him and sentencing him to death. The ruling became final after being appealed and subsequently upheld by the Supreme Court, and a royal decree was issued to enforce what was decided according to Sharia," as reported by "SPA."
The Saudi Ministry of Interior confirmed that "the death sentence was carried out against the perpetrator Musa bin Idris bin Musa Shwaihi, a Saudi national, on Monday, 15/2/1446 Hijri, corresponding to 19/8/2024 CE in the Riyadh region," according to the statement.
