Algerian President Reveals the Period of State Collapse

Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune delivered his first speech as a candidate for the upcoming presidential elections, thanking the people for their trust in him to manage the country during the past period, which he described as a stage of "state collapse." Tebboune, while listing his achievements during his first term, pointed out that the country was in a deplorable state in all fields, emphasizing that he "committed to the Algerians to reassess, rectify, and reform what was corrupted through 54 commitments, some of which have been fulfilled while others are still ongoing."

He added, "Thanks to God's grace and the trust of the Algerian people, results have been achieved that allowed for the salvation of the beloved homeland, where the economy was collapsing, primarily relying on imports and inflated invoices." He stated that "the state had collapsed, and there was no one remaining with the authority to deter the ills that were occurring; even the symbols of the state had reached a point of zero to create chaos and disorder so that Algeria would be easy prey through planning for internal explosion." He indicated that the state's dignity has been restored through rights and law, and that everyone who had the right was given their due, deterring those who thought they were above the law.

Tebboune continued, "Abroad, the state’s voice has become heard through defending the downtrodden and oppressed peoples in the world, foremost among them the Palestinian and Sahrawi people." He reminded that "assets that were plundered, loans, and properties were recovered, including 51 industrial units and units abroad, including a hotel in Spain." He noted that "the Algerian Ministry of Justice has issued nearly 285 judicial mandates in 32 countries, impacting around 755 bank accounts, and work is still ongoing to retrieve the people's funds."

It is worth mentioning that the early presidential elections in Algeria, scheduled for September 7, will feature current President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, head of the "Movement for a Peaceful Society" Abdel Ali Hassani, and Youssef Ouchiche, the first secretary of the "Socialist Forces Front."
