On the ninth night of the International Auction Platform for Falcon Breeding Farms 2024, the most expensive falcon of the year was sold for 400,000 Saudi Riyals. The auction took place on Wednesday evening at the Saudi Falcons Club in Malham, north of the capital, Riyadh, in the presence of the American ambassador to the Kingdom, Michael Ratney.
The American farm Pacific Northwest Falcons presented two falcons at the auction, which sold for a total of 486,000 Riyals. The night began with the first falcon, a male Gyrfalcon (Super White), which started bidding at 40,000 Riyals and was sold for 86,000 Riyals. The second and final falcon, a male Gyrfalcon (Ultra White), began bidding at 100,000 Saudi Riyals and was sold for 400,000 Saudi Riyals.
According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the auction provides a unique and reliable platform for elite falcons from around the world, featuring falcons from internationally awarded breeds, through a fast-paced competitive live auction that brings together falconers, producers, and falcon enthusiasts from Saudi Arabia and various countries worldwide. The auction events are broadcast live on television channels and social media platforms.
