Parliamentary sources have revealed details about a network that was recently arrested for spying on deputies, politicians, and agency directors. A source stated that "this network engaged in several unethical activities, including eavesdropping on the phones of some deputies, politicians, and agency directors, directing electronic armies, creating fake news, and impersonating politicians, businessmen, and channel owners."
The source added that "the network admitted to these charges, including impersonating the number of a satellite channel manager and sending a fabricated image to the channel containing four deputies: (Mustafa Sand, Oday Awad, Mohammed Nouri, and Haitham Al-Zuhwan) for a false news story to all deputies' private phones."
Deputy Mustafa Sand previously mentioned that "the head of the network is (Mohammed Jouhi), along with several officers and employees," pointing out that "there are several pressures being exerted to release them, but the investigating judge has not yielded to those requests."
He noted that "the affected deputies filed complaints, and their statements were verified." He continued that "the accused, Mohammed Jouhi, who heads this network, is the assistant general director of the administrative department in the Prime Minister's Office, the secretary of the government team, and the person responsible for communication with the deputies," indicating that "all these tasks were assigned to him by Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani."
