Title: "The Forces Party Responds to Mikati: The Last to Speak of Integrity"

Title:

The media office of the Lebanese Forces Party commented on the statement made by the Minister of Information in the caretaker government, Ziad Mikati. They said: "Minister Ziad Mikati overlooked several pieces of information in his recent media interview, which must be brought to his attention, in order to preserve the truth and documented facts and out of respect for the memory of the Lebanese people:

- First, discussing a 'non-serious candidacy by the opposing team' is misplaced; the last presidential election session on June 14, 2023, resulted in former Minister Jihad Azour (the 'non-serious' candidate) receiving 59 votes compared to 51 for the other candidate (the serious one). How can this candidacy be considered non-serious, especially when we recall how the MPs of the 'Paralysis Axis' rushed out of the main hall after the first round to avoid what might result from the second round, which would assuredly lead to Azour's victory.

- Second, those who claim to present a 'serious candidate' and boast of their commitment to 'democratic action' should simply attend an open electoral session with consecutive rounds that only end with the election of a president in accordance with the Lebanese Constitution.

- Third, the last people who have the right to speak of 'integrity' are those in the political axis to which Minister Mikati belongs. While we are committed to not digging into past records, it is because the problems of the present are greater than our collective ability to resolve and overcome. How, then, could we return to the records of the past? However, this does not mean that Minister Mikati should exploit that to unleash his complexes and imaginations."
