Foods Not Suitable for Airfryer Cooking

The air fryer, which allows you to prepare fries with little or no oil, has revolutionized the world of healthy cooking. However, despite its ease of use, this device is not suitable for all types of food, according to the latest reports. Here are 5 foods that should not be cooked in an air fryer, according to the "Sante" magazine website:

1. **Certain Types of Cheese**:

When cheese is melted, it should not be placed in the air fryer as it may burn, melt excessively, or lose its flavor. It can also damage the device when melted. Many cheeses like Parmesan, Ricotta, Philadelphia, Goat cheese, and Gorgonzola cannot be melted this way. However, Feta, Mozzarella, and Raclette cheese can be used if the device is protected with a special paper underneath. The same goes for Halloumi.

2. **Large Cuts of Meat**:

Large pieces of meat are also unsuitable because they prevent sufficient air circulation, which can lead to overcooked exteriors and undercooked interiors. It's better to cut the meat into smaller pieces before placing it in the device.

3. **Rice and Pasta**:

Similarly, rice and pasta are not recommended to be cooked in an air fryer as they require a large amount of water, which is not suitable for cooking in this appliance.

4. **Leafy or Watery Vegetables**:

Spinach, lettuce, and other leafy or watery vegetables should not be placed in the air fryer as they can blow around inside the device and potentially damage it. It is better to cook these using traditional methods.

5. **Dishes with Sauce**:

Dishes containing sauce should also not be placed in the air fryer. Regardless of the type of dish, it is best to reheat these in traditional pans.
