Netanyahu Vows No Nuclear Weapon for Iran Under His Leadership

A day after the U.S. President suggested an agreement with Tehran to end Middle Eastern conflicts, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu emphatically declared on Friday that Iran will not obtain a nuclear weapon while he is in office, reaffirming his commitment to blocking Tehran from acquiring nuclear capabilities under any circumstances.

Netanyahu issued a statement saying, "As long as I am the Prime Minister of Israel, Iran will not have nuclear weapons."

He also highlighted his agreement with U.S. President Donald Trump on this issue, stating: "President Trump and I are in complete agreement that Iran should not possess a nuclear bomb."

Netanyahu added that he was the first to act against Iran's nuclear program over 30 years ago, asserting that without his intervention, Iran would have long possessed nuclear weapons to destroy Israel.

Late Thursday, Israel announced that the United States had assured them that their security interests would be considered in any future agreement with Iran.

"Major settlement"

President Donald Trump mentioned on Thursday a "major settlement" that could potentially end the conflict with Iran, indicating that it might be completed in the coming days.

Trump expressed anticipation for holding a signing ceremony soon—perhaps in Europe—with Vice President J.D. Vance in attendance, although Iranian officials have yet to confirm reaching an agreement.
