The World Health Organization (WHO) announced on Friday that at least 452 people have died from the Ebola virus in the Democratic Republic of Congo by July.
The organization added that the total number of cases has reached 1,460, matching the figures released by the Congolese government earlier today.
According to WHO estimates, the current outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo is attributed to the 'Bundibugyo' strain of the virus. Due to the rarity of this strain, there are no vaccines or approved treatments available as of yet.
