Iranian state media reported on Saturday that an explosion was heard in the eastern part of Tehran Province, though no details about its cause were initially provided.
Reports indicated that residents of the cities of Pakdasht and Qiamdeh heard the explosion.
Later, Iran's Fars News Agency clarified that the explosions east of Tehran were due to the destruction of explosive materials.
