Trump Announces Resumption of U.S. Military Operations Against Iran Amid Rising Tensions

President Donald Trump has reaffirmed that Iran will not be able to impose its will on the United States, emphasizing that Washington sets the terms in the current standoff with Tehran.

In statements made on Monday, Trump highlighted that the United States possesses the "strongest military in the world," which was evidently showcased during recent military actions against Iran.

He added that while Iran "imposed its will on others for 47 years," it cannot do the same with the United States, asserting that the balance of power leans in favor of Washington.

In a related development, The New York Times reported that Trump officially notified Congress about the resumption of military operations against Iran, explaining that U.S. forces conducted what he described as "defensive" strikes inside Iranian territory on July 7.

This escalation coincides with the U.S. administration's announcement of its intent to reimpose a blockade on Iranian vessels, alongside the introduction of protection fees on ships traversing the Strait of Hormuz, a move aimed at securing one of the world's key maritime corridors.

Conversely, Iran's military leadership, represented by the central Khattam al-Anbiya headquarters, asserted that Tehran will not allow U.S. interference in the management of the Strait of Hormuz, pledging to counter any American moves deemed as threats to regional maritime security.
