On Tuesday, Saudi Arabia expressed strong condemnation of Iranian attacks targeting several Gulf and Arab countries, firmly rejecting any aggression that compromises the sovereignty of nations or threatens regional security and stability.
In a statement, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs declared the Kingdom's denunciation of the targeting of several Kuwaiti border points, an oil drilling platform belonging to Kuwait Oil Company, an assault on the Kuwaiti consulate in Basra, and the targeting of two Emirati oil tankers while they were passing through the Strait of Hormuz.
Riyadh also condemned Iran’s ongoing threats to regional security, pointing to attacks on the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the State of Qatar. These acts were described as clear violations of international law, the United Nations Charter, and the Charter of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, in addition to being contrary to the principles of good neighborliness.
Saudi Arabia held Iran fully responsible for what it termed "blatant aggression," demanding an immediate halt to these violations and urging Tehran to avoid actions likely to escalate tensions and threaten regional security.
The Kingdom reiterated its full solidarity with its sister countries, affirming support for all measures taken to preserve their sovereignty and security, reflecting a unified Gulf stance against security challenges and regional escalation.
This Saudi statement comes amid escalating military tensions in the region, following recent announcements by Kuwait and Bahrain of intercepting hostile aerial targets, amidst ongoing reciprocal attacks between Iran and the United States and growing fears of escalating conflict in the Gulf.
