Trump Threatens Iran with Strikes on Power Stations Amid Stalled Negotiations

In an interview with Fox News, U.S. President Donald Trump announced plans to expand American strikes on Iran to include power stations and bridges next week, should Tehran fail to reach an agreement.

Trump declared, "Next week will be very bad for them because power stations will be targeted. Bridges will be targeted next week."

He further stated, "We will destroy all their power stations. We will demolish all their bridges unless they return to the negotiating table."

Trump emphasized that strikes on Iran would continue until he deems it sufficient, adding that Washington is postponing targeting "Iran's energy at the end." He noted, "Iran still has some resistance but not much," and mentioned that U.S. forces have inflicted significant damage on Iran’s military capabilities. He projected that it may take about 20 years to rebuild if operations cease now.

The President revealed that U.S. representatives had engaged in talks with Iran on Tuesday, urging Tehran to make a deal.

Trump clarified that Washington's goal is to prevent Tehran from obtaining a nuclear weapon, maintain free navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, and undermine Iran's military capabilities, asserting, "Iran will never have a nuclear weapon."

Meanwhile, the U.S. military announced on Tuesday evening that strikes on Iran had continued for the fourth consecutive day. A statement by U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) on platform X specified that the strikes aim to "degrade Iran's capabilities used to attack commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz."

CENTCOM highlighted that the strikes come as "U.S. forces are preparing to reactivate a maritime blockade on Iran's ports and coastal areas."

These strikes represent the latest round of skirmishes between the United States and Iran, which commenced last week following Iranian attacks on commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz.
