Kuwait and Bahrain announced early today that they were subjected to Iranian attacks, following the United States’ resumption of its blockade on Iranian ports.
The Kuwaiti military issued a statement saying, 'Kuwaiti air defenses are currently responding to hostile drone attacks following Iran’s malicious aggression.'
The statement added, 'The General Staff of the Army advises that any explosion sounds heard are due to the air defense systems intercepting hostile attacks.'
The statement emphasized the importance of adhering to security and safety instructions issued by the relevant authorities.
Similarly, Bahrain's Ministry of Interior released a statement saying, 'The alarm siren has been activated... We urge citizens and residents to remain calm, head to the nearest safe place, and follow updates through official channels.'
On Tuesday evening, Kuwait reported successfully controlling a fire that erupted at a site in the country.
The Kuwait Fire Service Directorate posted on its 'X' account: 'Spokesperson for the General Fire Force, Brigadier General Mohammed Bader Ibrahim, announced that six fire teams, with support from the Kuwaiti Army and the National Guard's fire teams, managed last night to control a fire at a site in the country.'
According to the post, the fire occurred 'after the site was targeted in hostile attacks by Iran’s malicious aggression against the country.'
Brigadier General Mohammed Bader noted that fire teams began efforts immediately upon arrival, successfully combating and controlling the fire, with no human injuries reported, only material damage incurred.
These developments followed the announcement by the US military on Tuesday, resuming a comprehensive naval blockade on ships traveling to and from Iranian ports and coastal areas.
The US military stated, 'We have resumed the naval blockade on vessels traveling to and from Iranian ports and coastal areas today at 4 p.m. Eastern time.'
According to the statement, 'More than 20 warships and hundreds of military aircraft are active throughout the Middle East.'
Within hours of re-imposing the blockade, Iranian state media reported a clash involving gunfire in the Strait of Hormuz, without providing further details.
